Rapid Intervention Equipment

A First Aid approach to Road Crash Rescue

A close up of the tips A Set of Rapid Intervention gear Rapid Intervention equipment is designed to be a lightweight, first aid way of extricating a casualty from a crash scene. It will usually be a lightweight set of hydraulic rams with combined cutter and spreader tips.

It is intended to be a primary way of gaining entry to a vehicle where a simple door removal, will facilitate medical retreival of a casualty, or to remove a device from a limb in a industrial accident situation.

If there is a need for an extra, or stronger set of equipment, then a full Road Crash Rescue response will be initiated from another brigade.
