Portable Firefighting tools
Knapsacks are used extensively throughout the Service and other organisations to provide a means of portable fire extinguishment in places not usually accessible to vehicles or hose lays.
Knapsacks come in different forms with the more popular 'Soft' pack now the standard stowage on appliances. These replace the older plastic units which proved to be cumbersome and awkward to use and store. The Soft Knapsacks have a capacity of 15 litres of water with the older plastic style of 20 litres.
