Industrial Areas
Industrial and Commercial areas.

A commercial area is one whose purpose is to manufacture and distribute goods and services, retail outlets and general businesses.  These buildings may be individually placed, but will be normally found in designated areas, parks or shopping centres.

As with any large structure, there is a likelihood that large numbers of people will be involved if an incident occurs.  They will often be found in a small area and so appropriate alarms and sprinkler systems are fitted to give these people time to evacuate in the case of an emergency, such as a fire or other hazardous situations.

An example of such areas may be the Industrial Park located just near Roseworthy, to large shopping complexes in Mount Barker, Naracoorte and Murray Bridge.  Fishing Fleets in Port McDonnell and Cowell to Mining in areas like Coober Pedy and Roxby Downs.

Some large industries have their own fire fighting resources, like the BHP Billiton mine at Olympic Dam, and the CFS will assist with incidents if requested to by the company.
