In the MFS, all the appliances are recognised by a Fleet Number. This is a unique ID, similar to the registration number of a car. Each Fleet appliance is then allocated to a Station, and their radio callsign will become similar in identification to CFS appliances, with the Station name preceeding its type number.

For example, Murray Bridge 722, is the Number 2 Pumper, based at Murray Bridge, which is station 72.
