16 Appliance
A 16 appliance carries approximately 1500 litres of water, and is a 6 wheel drive capable vehicle with a Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) of under 5 tonnes. As a rule, they only carry 2 members, and they can also be utilised as a command vehicle, or assist in logistics work. A 16 appliance is generally suited for all terrain combating grass, scrub and bushfires. All 16 appliances carry equipment for combating rural fires.
