The Claremont Air Base

The Claremont Air base is the new home of the Aerial Firefighting fleet in the Mount Lofty Ranges for both fixed and rotary wing aircraft, including the Erickson Aircrane.

The Airbase is nestled in an area between Nairne, Brukunga and Inverbrackie in the Adelaide Hills, and is just over 30kms as the crow flies to the Adelaide CBD.

Relocated from the Woodside Air base in December 2016, the South Australian aviation group Aerotech Australasia established a longer runway and a faster fill capability for aircraft to meet the demands of the CFS in aerial firefighting capability as well as facilities for pilots and crews.
