Congratulations to John Wright AFSM and Gregory James AFSM on being awarded the Australian Fire Service Medal. This high honour is for individuals who have made a noteworthy contribution to the fire service.

John helped establish CFS Region One as a key incident management resource, pioneering the use of the Australasian Inter-service Incident Management System (AIIMS) and early computer technology. His forward-thinking approach advanced brigade capabilities and set new standards in incident coordination.

John continues to be a mentor in this area and a great help in the exercising being done within Region 1.

Greg has been a pioneer in developing the Bushfire Analysis and Response Tool (BART), which he began trialing in 2015. His advocacy for features like satellite imagery and location tracking has helped make BART indispensable to more than 7,000 CFS volunteers statewide.

Well done and thank you all for your dedication to SA and the CFS.
