Submitted On Thursday, January 16, 2003
Submitted By Pip McGowan

On February 16th 1983, the devastating "Ash Wednesday" bushfires, wrecked havoc across much of South Australia and Victoria, causing high property losses, and resulted in the deaths of a number of people, including firefighters.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Mount Lofty Summit at 3.30 p.m. on Sunday 16th February, to remember those who died on that day - and those volunteer firefighters who have lost their lives in the service of community

Members of the CFS, families and friends are welcome to attend the service.

Members of the CFS are asked to wear dress uniform, or clean PPE
