The Promotions Unit - commonly known as the Pantech headed off to its first public event - the 1994 Royal Adelaide Show, a week after the Official Opening.

The first problem was maneuvering the Pantech onto our allocated site within the showgrounds - given that the other exhibitors were already set up!!

Once the trailer was in place, the prime mover was disconnected, and the Unit was ready for display!

A new appliance, Truro 24 was squeezed onto the site too - and opportunity to show members of the public the equipment used by the CFS.

The inside of the unit was decked out with around 40 photos, some fire safety posters, and two Fireguard computers - a fire safety program, aimed at children (but was good fun for the grown ups too!!), and some videos.

Over 24,000 visitors came though the site over the duration of the Show.

The Unit won third prize in the ANZ Royal Adelaide Showcase Awards.

The Unit also saw action for the first time when a leaking LPG cylinder from a forklift truck was delivered to the display without warning. The incident was contained and made safe within minutes by the CFS volunteers on site.
