Wisanger Brigade - 1970 to Present

The first meeting of ratepayers and residents of the Hundred of Menzies was held in the woolshed of the Bellevista property of Mr Colin Bell on April 14, 1970, to discuss the possibility of forming an Emergency Fire Service Unit. Later that year this organisation was officially registered as the Menzies EFS

At a meeting held on March 16 1971, in the woolshed of Mr M C Boxer, it was resolved to establish a second EFS unit in the Hundred of Menzies to be known as the Wisanger EFS and early in 1972 a 4WD Bedford truck was bought and converted to a fire fighting unit.

Both brigades operated independently until 1989, when it was decided that the Wisanger CFS and the Menzies CFS amalgamate to form one brigade know as the Wisanger CFS.
