A variety of fires attended to
The CFS responds to many different types of fires during the year, from small rubbish bins to large commercial waste hoppers, motor vehicles, brush fences and heaped vegetation. Even mulch and sawdust fires. Firefighters will encounter all types of hazards when dealing with these smaller incidents, as the contents of many bins are unknown, and vehicles may have LPG fitted. Brush fences will have other property or structures such as gas meters and houses nearby. Commercial waste bins may be located close to buildings and require flooding to fully extinguish the contents. Many mulch and sawdust fires will involve adjoining sheds.
