Submitted On Sunday, October 7, 2001
Submitted By Pip McGowan

The members of the Tailem Bend CFS will be presented with their International Year of the Volunteer medals on 13th October, in the park alongside their Station. The medals will be presented by the Federal member of Parliament, Patrick Secker, and State member, Peter Lewis. The last few weeks has been very busy for the Tailem Bend crew - they have attended a number of serious road accidents (including a number of fatalities), a large house fire, which saw the crews save almost $300,000 worth of property, a rural fire, storm damage and other calls. This is in addition to their normal CFS training, Cadet training, and their own work! The Crew are to congratulated for theie efforts
