Presentations at Balaklava CFS

Life Memberships were awarded to eight long standing members of the Balaklava Country Fire Service at a presentation dinner on Monday 7th August. A total of 225 years of voluntary service was recognised.
Over the years these members have given up countless hours of their own time to come to the aid of those in need. It is not only fires that the CFS attend to these days. Incidents vary greatly, from large and small rural fires, house fires, incidents involving hazardous substances, vehicle accidents, floods and even the legendary cat up the tree.
Acting Regional Commander, John Hutchins was on hand to present the awards to the recipients. He also presented an Honour Board which was accepted by the current Captain, Kevin Julyan. Along with Bob Maxwell, with over 40 years of service, there are now nine life members of the Balaklava CFS Brigade. The new life members are:- Doug CLARK 22 years, Chris COWAN 27, Neil FISHER 34, Kevin JULYAN 28, Colin MILTON 38, Joy MILTON 27, Colin STEWART 34, Jenny STEWART 25.
