Cookes Plains has taken delivery of a new 44 appliance - the first 44 appliance to be issued in the CFS.

The new Cooke Plains 44 is based on a 2012 Isuzu FTS800 Crew chassis, (crew cab) is 4 x 4 and carries 4000 litres of water.

The appliance is designed purely as a rural appliance, and carries only rural stowage. It is not designed to carry breathing apparatus, Hazmat or road crash rescue equipment.

With only rural stowage, it allows an extra 1000 litres of water to be carried on the same chassis as other 34 appliances (which carry only 3000 litres of water)

Built by Fraser Fire and Rescue, it is fitted with a Deutz F3L2011 motor / Darley 2.5 AGE pump.

It replaces the existing 23 year old Hino based Cooke Plains 34, which will be utilised as a spare appliance for the fire season.
