CFS Northern Territory Deployment September / October 2011
Appliances
which departed as a Strike Team on Wednesday, 28th September 2011 included
Orroroo 34, Wilmington 34, Quorn 34P and Napperby 34 along with Hallet Car 1
The first deployment to the Northern Territory were operating at the Luritja /
Henbury fire which is 65 Kms South of Hermannsburg, 165 Kms South West from
Alice Springs, near White Horse Gap on Kings Creek Station.

The third Strike Team crew departed Adelaide at 10.45am on the 6th of October
pictured below, and assisted with controlled burning around assets South of
Alice Springs, such as the power station and North along the Railway line near
the Plenty Highway and Stuart Highway intersection.

The second Strike Team crew, pictured below arrived back in Adelaide at 3.45 pm, before many
had to take another flight to get back to home. They worked in the South
part of Alice Springs, including a run to Erldunda, and then to the North East
of the Alice out to Ruby Gap,

The second and third Strike Teams were based in Alice Springs, providing fire
cover for the town, whils assisting with hazard reduction burns, and assisting
landowners with fires, as far away as Erldunda.
