CFS Heritage Committee now a Museum

The CFS Heritage Committee, which was a sub committee under the SACFS Volunteers Association (formerly the SAVFBA) has now become a Museum.

The Heritage committee is now known as the SA Volunteer Fire Fighters Museum Inc.

The aim of the museum is to:

Research, Record, Conserve and Promote the History and Equipment of the South Australian Volunteer Fire Service.


The current collection of 18 historic fire appliances is still in temporary storage at the Narcoorte Showgrounds, but steps are being taken to establish a permanent home within the grounds of the Sheeps Back Museum, based in Naracoorte.
