Official CFS Logos & Insignia
The Fire Service Star (Cross of St John) is the official insignia of the CFS. The Fire Service Star is used by many fire services around the world. The Star is based on the Maltese Cross, with each point and blade being symbolic of the activities and qualities of a fire fighter. These being:
The red checker pattern is the international Fire Service striping (usually on a white background), whilst the yellow represents the overalls worn by CFS volunteers. The map indicates the area served, whilst CFS identifies the organisation.
